Description

Those films I failed starting with DVDPlayer (light and full). Mplayer has no problem with it. Those are MPEG-2 AVI with mp3 sound. I guess problem is with FFMPEG replacing libmad/libfaad .

Attached are some logfiles an screenshots with codec info

This is not a debug log, please attach one...

Looks like an out of memory problem. It doesn't look like you turned on debugging also. Did you try with the PM3 skin also?

(the out of memory error could also be related to ffmpeg struggling in some way with the file). As arnova said we need a full log with debugging turned on to look into this further.

ok... do that in a minute....

Also a problem with no country for old men: Not playing with DVDPlayer but plays with Mplayer.

no country for old men defaults to DVDPlayer. A quick fix would be to default it to Mplayer.

Need more?

also tried in PM-skin:
No country for old men: Same problem: looks like a coded issue
A woman in Berlin: Plays in PM. Looks like a mem. problem.

You are posting unrelated problems here. The dvd problem looks like some issue with the ac3 audio in the dvd (at least liba52 doesnt like it it seems), the other one still looks like a low memory issue. did you try with the pm3 skin yet? Please try and post separate tickets for different issues. Not sure what can be done about the memory issue, apart from recommend using a lighter skin/and small fanart data etc

Seeing that the dvd video is corrupted, I guess something has gone wrong before the ac3 part, I wouldn't be able to tell you more without a copy of the same video.

Ok. Now I know better wat is needed....

in pm3 skin "No country for old men" also has this codec issue with DVDPlayer but it plays just fin in Mplayer. If it is hard to fix, a quick fix would be to make Mplayer default in this case?

Concerning the film: I can FTP it anywhere you want for testing purposes...

about the mem issue: Is it possible to have a delete cache function before playback? Since this file is playing in PM3, it's probably a mem issues caused by the library.
